WELCOME

Our theme for the 2024 Buddhist Arts and Film Festival is “PATH” as it represents such a vast, personal, transforming course of action.

This course or direction in which we move refers to the Buddha’s enlightened view of life and the actions or attitudes that will create happiness for oneself and others. It is found in the ongoing, dynamic effort to apply wisdom to the questions and challenges of life and society. We offer this festival as a means to project the voices, wisdom and creativity that aim to benefit. It can be seen as an opportunity - to reflect, and to question where we begin, where we’re going and why, and how we get there.

Freed: Spirituality in Movement

In this workshop we will use improvisation-based movement practices, dance steps and conversation to explore authentic creativity. Experimentation and play will be at the forefront of our time together, so the container will be held in a sturdy yet fluid manner. You will have the opportunity to connect with other attendees as we move between small and large group practices throughout the workshop.

No dance experience is required. Attendees are seen as the bosses of their bodies and therefore are trusted to take care of themselves throughout the workshop.
